House updates

First of all month 5 is in the books for my probation with Sno.Co.Fire Dist 1 (formerly City of Edmonds Fire), leaving only 4 to go. WooHoo!! http://www.firedistrict1.org/
On to the house updates.....
This is Sam working on placing all the slate in the entrance walkway.
Sam is also working his art at making the fireplace beautiful.
Here is the front "porch" slab, it was poured yesterday while I was at work.
And of course the very important back "BBQ" porch. there is a propane stub hidden off to the right where the BBQ will find its new home.
That is it for now. In about 1/2 hour the cabinets will be delivered. As soon as they are in place I will let ya see 'em.

Mini Post...The hardwood floor has its first coat

Okay, I had to hold my breath to get this photo because the fumes were so strong. Sam and Gordy just left for the day and the heater is warming things up. this is just the first of two coats and it should soak in really well. Still it look gorgeous!! Tony

Buck in the backyard

This beast of a buck was just walking through this morning...'bout 10 minutes ago. I think he was the two point we saw last year. This yeas he is a 3 x 3. I have seen evidence of him rubbing on a few small alder trees and we did see him once for a few minutes but this is the closest I have been to him. Didn't see any of his girlfriends hanging out...

House Updates

Here is the latest house update a bunch of you have been asking for. The entrance is almost done, well there is still a bunch of work...the stone and slab will be added soon but the cedar and fir is done.
As you enter the white oak hardwood flooring is being installed. It will be sanded, receive a coat of Swedish finish and then be ready to walk on. the second coat will be applied after the kitchen is done. This first view is looking into the kitchen. The second is just a closeup of the wood.
Here is the slate that will be in the entry, around the fireplace and at the entry of the east facing double doors. The dead light of the camera flash really lit up the orange/rust hues. It really has a much darker blue/grey overall look. The grout will be a charcoal black.
Downstairs bathroom with travertine tile work.
The current view from the master bedroom, please feel free to mentally remove the lower house in the way.
Master bath with a darker travertine and ceramic floor tiles.
I did a little landscape work outside in the back and reduced the slope to a more mow-able area.
We thought this would be more of a shady garden area but it receives a lot of light now and with the sun being higher in the summer it will make a great backyard. Plus I can practice with my archery target from the back kitchen door.
That is it for now, Tony

2010 Resolution Run and Trip and Drip Family Photos

2010 Trip and Drip 5K run.
The run is an annual event for Club Northwest. We do it at Sandpoint on Lake Washington every January 1st. At the end you have the option of running into the lake for a quick dip. Jon chose not to but Gabe went twice!! Of course there were many duddles along the way to get wet in too.
