Went to a mud hole and a Lacrosse game broke out

This morning's lacrosse match between Monroe 3/4 (That's "three/four", not "three quarters".) and Stanwood was more of a mudslinging muddy mud festival of, well, mud mud muddiness. Keep an eye on the kid in the dark red helmet, that's Gabe. Did I mention the mud? Go Gabe!!Gabe is fully enjoying the physical aspects of the game and quickly picking up on the actual playing; like techniques, rules and regulations. "What do you mean I can't hit people with my stick? Why do I have it?"
This match was a bit more crazy than most, if that can be imagined, but still an absolute blast to watch. The kids fought a great fight and stayed as focused as possible on the cold, wet and muddy pitch. Often times when they would try to pass the ball they ended up passing a glob of mud instead. There were more falls due to slipping than checking.
The Stanwood team and coaches were great hosts, cheering on all players, including ours for good plays.
It is such a joy to see the kids play.Even Abby, one of the three girls on the team, got into the mix in her usual big-bad way. Coach encouraged her to not take anything from the boys. You go girl!!
